Some Parents should have their brains examined

http://www.cnn.com/2007/LAW/02/24/toddler.slain.ap/index.html

This is a sad story about a 53 year old grandmother who stabbed her 21 month old grand daughter to death after receiving spiritual advice from the geese flying over her house.

My first inclination was to laugh. Advice from geese? Are geese even the slightest bit anthropomorphic? But I digress...

The part about all of this that p***ed me off NO end was this: The poor woman had been in a psych hospital 6 times that year. Now, I love my mother. However, if she'd been in a psych hospital 6 times in a 12 month period, do you think there's the slightest chance in hell that I'd let her alone with my 21 month old child?!?!

In my opinion, the parents should have been charged with criminal neglect... or something along that line.

By Request...

I'm writing something. It's been... oh a few months, I guess, but I have a good excuse. I lost my job (well, I didn't lose it, I know where it is still) and that same weekend my computer died. Which really, really sucked. I was offline for 4 months while I looked for a job and got enough money to get up and running again. Which involved buying a new hard drive, a new power supply and a new NIC card, finding video and sound drivers and attempting to reload everything that was on here before.

During those few months I seem to have lost a good friend (well, I didn't lose her, I know where she is... kinda), lost a job, gained a job (crappy though it is), gained a new TV obsession (Stargate S-1), lost my will to work out.

I think that's about it.

It's been an interesting learning experience.
